OZARK…. Mrs. Mavis Searcy Tomlin King passed away Thursday August 20, 2020 in the Dale Medical Center at the age of 97.

She was married to the late Howard Marell (Ted) Tomlin and they were blessed with four sons.  She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Ronnie Erwin Tomlin, by her father and mother, Quincy Chapman Searcy and Martha Anna Beasley Searcy and a brother, Louie Edgar Searcy, an infant brother who died at birth, and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by three of her sons, Lamar Tomlin (Sonja), Aubrey Dean Tomlin (Edna), Larry Tomlin (Carolyn), and a special cousin, Faye Teal. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was a faithful member as long as her health permitted. Even then, her Church was always on her mind and in her prayers. She had taught Sunday School, worked in Bible School as well as any place else she could and was needed. She had an undying love for the Lord and her church.

There came a time when she had to seek employment outside the home and farm and she went to work at White-Knight Mfg.
