Jilda Ann, daughter of the late Ross L. Moore and Bessie Lou Mallory Moore, was a native of the Ewell Community. She was born on Halloween in 1950, graduated from Carroll High School in 1969 then attended Wallace Community College. Her long career centered around helping others. Jilda served as office manager in the medical field, first for Lynn Reeves, DMD, in Daleville, then for Ann McDowell, M.D., in Dothan.

Despite battling lung disease for a decade, Jilda was always positive and thankful. She graciously gave of her time and enjoyed listening to others. Jilda was a long-time member of Ewell Bible Baptist Church and Chalkhead Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and shared that love with everyone she met. Jilda and Bill’s home was always the spot for large family gatherings. Their door was always open and everyone welcome, in fact, she celebrated unexpected guests. Her great loves were Jesus Christ, family and friends, and her fur babies.  Hobbies included light gardening with her favorite flowering trees and plants, as well as bird watching. Jilda’s Glory Day was Thanksgiving 2022, and what a homecoming it had to be.

Mrs. Thrasher was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William “Bill” R. Thrasher, Jr.; mother-in-law, Carolyn Celesta Brooks Thrasher; father-in-law, William R. Thrasher, Sr.; daughter, Nina Gore; daughter-in-law, Cecile Thrasher; six brothers, Tommy Ross, Bobby Wayne (Virginia), Sammy Dwight, two infant brothers lost at birth, and 3-month-old brother Jack; brother-in-law, Greg Thrasher; and sweet baby niece, Carter Aspen.
