Ozark

OZARK…Mr. Wade Elden McLeod, a resident of Ozark, died late Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 55.

Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 23, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vernon McLeod and Rev. Patrea Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. McLeod was born on March 16, 1967 from the holy union of Obie McLeod and Betty Lois Cole.  He was a life member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church located in Skipperville, AL.  He was a strong man of faith and believed in letting his Christian work stand as a testament to his devotion to Christ.  If you or anyone was ever in need of help, Wade was that kind of person that would lend you that helping hand.  He worked many years as a long distant Truck Driver until his declining health brought him home.  He was blessed to find an abundance of local work that included Dale County Road and Bridge, the City of Dothan, MDI, Inc., Waste Management and several others.  As his health continued to decline, Wade stopped working for wages and started working to help those in needs by delivering food to families throughout the wiregrass area.  Several challenges met during his career was crossing the Death Valley Mountain chain in route to California; the Cabbage Patch mountain chain in Oregon and the cleanup efforts of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana.

Mr. McLeod is preceded in death by his father, Obie McLeod and sister, Rena McLeod. He is survived by his loving mother, Betty L. McLeod, Ozark, AL; three devoted daughters, Sherelle  Andrews, Belton, Tx, Waneaqua McLeod, Kierra McLeod both of Ozark, AL, brothers; Mitchell McLeod, Anthony McLeod, Ozark, AL; sisters , Joan Dangerfield, Dothan, AL, Delois Cohen and Angela McLeod Ozark, AL; six grand children and a host of nieces and nephews.
