OZARK… Mr. Robert Leon Tomlin (Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022, at his home. He was 82.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tomlin, son of the late D C Tomlin and Wilma Boswell Tomlin, was a native of Hartford, Alabama and was a graduate of Geneva High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy following high school, where he served twenty years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Tomlin was a Vietnam Veteran having served two tours. Following his military career, he was a Summa Cuma Lauda Graduate of Southeastern College in Lakeland, Florida where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Mr. Tomlin was also retired from Lake Wales Senior High School, Lake Wales, Florida as a history teacher after sixteen years of employment. He moved to Ozark in 2011, following his retirement.  Mr. Tomlin enjoyed spending time outdoors especially fishing.

Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-two years, Nancy Cranmer Tomlin, Ozark; two sons, Eric Tomlin and Gregory Tomlin, both of Ocala, Florida; four grandchildren, Errin Tomlin, Robert Tomlin (PFC, United States Army), Nathan Tomlin(Corporal, United States Marine Corps), and Eric Tomlin, Jr.; a cousin, David Tomlin (Theresa), Ozark.
