Ray Hancock

ABBEVILLE…Mr. Ray C. Hancock, a resident of Abbeville, near Shorterville, died Saturday morning, April 20, 2019 at his home. He was 76.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hancock, son of the late John W. Hancock and Helen Lavonia Norton Hancock, was a native of Auburndale, Florida and moved to Abbeville at an early age. He formerly lived in Columbia, Alabama, Edison, Georgia and Lake Wales, Florida before returning to Alabama in 2011. Mr. Hancock was a retired, self-employed mechanic and residential contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and reading his bible. Mr. Hancock attended New Beginnings Church near Ashford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Bishop; grandson, Waylon Bolden; two brothers, John Hancock, Jr. and Aaron Hancock.

Surviving relatives include four daughters, Tiffany Rubio (Robert), Haines, City, FL; Lyndsey Bolden (Adam), Lake Wales, FL; Dakota Hancock, Winter Haven, FL., and Savannah Hancock, Lake Wales, FL; three sons, Jeffrey Hancock and family; Cody Hancock (Hannah), all of Winter Haven, FL; and Caleb Hancock, Danville, KY; grandchildren, Landon Rubio, Maci Rubio, Addyson Bolden, Brooke Bolden and Mallory Bolden; his sister, Julie Hill, Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Diana Johnston, Winter Haven, FL; special niece, Chelsea McCutchin, Austin, TX..
