Harvey Shivers

Ozark

OZARK…. Mr. Harvey Lee Shivers (Sergeant First Class, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, February 10, 2021 in a Dothan hospital. He was 88.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Shane Traylor officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway Suite 2, Dothan, Alabama 36303.

Mr. Shivers, son of the late William Thomas Shivers and Mary Etta Gates Shivers, was a native of Flomaton, Alabama. He lived in various duty stations and served two tours in Vietnam while serving in the United States Army. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Ozark in 1989. Mr. Shivers was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Ingeborg Shivers; a sister, Virgie Lee Kelly; seven brothers, Jessie Shiver, Julius Shiver, Allie Shiver, Clark Shivers, Carl Shivers, Roy Shivers, and William T. Shivers.

Surviving relatives include his daughter, Christine Clark, Ozark; granddaughter, Amanda Fox; great-granddaughter, Laurel Ann Fox, both of Enterprise; a brother, Joe Shivers (Martha), Flomaton; numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
