TROY…Mr. Gary R. Kelly, a resident of Troy, died late Tuesday evening, January 19, 2021 in Troy Regional Medical Center. He was 59.

Private family funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Calvary Assembly of God Church with Pastor Randy Adams officiating. The funeral service can be viewed by Facebook Live on the Calvary Church page.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The visitation will be public from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. All COVID guidelines and restrictions will be followed during all scheduled times.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church Fishes & Loaves Ministry, PO Box 393, Clio, Alabama 36017.

Mr. Kelly was born July 25, 1961 in Troy, Alabama. He was a 1979 graduate of Charles Henderson High School and a 1982 graduate of Troy University where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Mr. Kelly was currently employed with the State of Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accounts for the past thirty-five years. He was an active member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Clio. Mr. Kelly served as the Cemetery Director, served in the Children’s Ministry, and the Fishes & Loaves Ministry of the church. He was a partner with Vintage Elegance Event Planning & Catering in Clio. Mr. Kelly was an avid University of Alabama Football fan and was the founding father of the “Cousins Club”. He was a loyal father and grandfather and was lovingly known as “G-Pa”. Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Kelly and Ruby Nell Flowers Kelly;  an infant child.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Becky Kelly; his daughter, Sara Collins (Chase), all of Troy; his adopted son, Quintarries Upshaw, Pensacola, FL; three brothers, Stanley Kelly (Debra), Troy; Russell Kelly (Ann), Montgomery and Dennis Kelly (Stephanie), Troy; grandson,  Cade Collins; nieces and nephews.
