Amos Ivey

SKIPPERVILLE…. Mr. Amos Ivey, a resident of Skipperville, Alabama, died early Saturday morning, December 12, 2020 at Dale Medical Center in Ozark. Amos died from complications from COVID. He was 83.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 14, 2020 at Ozark First Assembly of God Church in Ozark with Pastor Greg Doss and Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.  Monday at the church.

Amos Ivey was born on February 5, 1937 to the late Tallie and Flossie Ivey. Amos was born and raised in Enterprise, Alabama. After marrying, Amos moved to Ozark and lived there until moving to Skipperville 10 years ago. Amos worked at Hayes Aircraft in Napier Field and DynCorp-Lowe Field. Amos retired from DynCorp in 1998. Amos was a faithful member of Ozark First Assembly of God Church. He served in several areas including Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Youth, Royal Rangers and Board Member for many years.

Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his sister-Eloise McGhee, brother-Cecil Ivey, and twin brother-Andy Ivey and his wife Nell, and one granddaughter-Morgan Ivey.

He is survived by his wife of sixty three years,  Mary Lois Ivey, sons Tim (Amy) Ivey, all of Skipperville and Tony (Becky) Ivey, Tennessee; a  brother-Billy (Lorraine) Ivey-Enterprise;  sister in law-Mildred Ivey-Ozark; grandchildren,  Shaun (Crystal) Ivey, Ozark,  Spencer Ivey, Seth (Claire) Ivey and Stetson Ivey, Skipperville, James Ivey, Jacksonville, FL & Kaitlyn Ivey, Ozark, Michael, Randy and Lily Ivey of Tennessee; great granddaughters-Emily and Breanna Ivey and great grandson-Trey Yon; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers are: Spencer Ivey, Seth Ivey, Stetson Ivey, James Ivey, Jeremy Cruit, Jason Cruit, Josh Cruit.
