ARITON… Mrs. Amanda Rose Martin, a resident of Ariton, died Saturday, August 21, 2021, in the emergency room of Dale Medical Center. She was 79.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 28, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in First Holy Ground Church Cemetery in the Post Oak Community, near Ozark. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin was born April 26, 1942, in Douglas, Georgia and moved to Ariton in 2004. She was preceded in death by three sons, John Cordary, Leo Joseph Cordary, and Henry Pete Johnson; four sisters, Lois Lane, Louise Hyatt, Patricia Vaughn, and Carrie Rentz.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Roger Dale Martin; daughter, Jeannie Martin (Tony), all of Ariton; two sons, Jimmy Cordary, Hartford and Henry Pete Johnson, II, Ft. Pierce, FL; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
