OZARK…Willie Virginia Harris, age 93, of Ozark, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Westside Terrace, surrounded by family and kind, caring staff.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. (ET), Friday, March 6, 2026, at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama with Father Chris Boutin officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Willie, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was from DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents Christine Cosson Culhane and Chester Mitchem and husband Lt. Col. George Harris (Ret.)

She is survived by her six children: Rachel Harris, Leah Brogden, Lisa Dunn, Georgia McCraw, Michael Harris and Melissa Cincotta. She was the proud grandmother to Cary Dunn, Benjamin Gibbs, Christina Gibbs Perez, Daniel Harris, Kris Ann McDaniel McAllister, Elise McDaniel Moreland, Callie Cincotta, Sydney Brogden Wozniak, Taylor Brogden Johnson, and 10 great grandchildren.

The last few years of her life were blessed by the help and support of amazing caregivers. She loved them dearly.

She was a devoted military wife and an extraordinary mother. She loved music, dancing, cooking and possessed an incredible wit. She managed to share these traits and talents to all of her children.
