Ozark

OZARK…Ms. Wendy Gail McLendon, a resident of Ozark, died early Monday evening, February 21, 2022, in Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 66.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 25, 2022, in the First Baptist Church of Level Plains Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Eric Fuller officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. McLendon, daughter of the late Lewis Massey McLendon and Francis Pauline Danner Powell,  was born May 19, 1955, at Camp Rucker.  She lived in various places in the United States and overseas while her stepfather served in the United States Army. Ms.  McLendon also formerly lived in Milton, Florida and Zachary, Louisiana before moving back to Alabama in 1986. She was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. Ms. McLendon was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Ripley “Rip” McLendon, Sr.; half-brothers, Duane Massey McLendon, William “Billy” Edward McLendon, and Martin Lee McLendon.

Surviving relatives include her children, Archie Attaway (Gwen), Clayhatchee, Eric Attaway (Amanda), Enterprise, Bobbie Attaway Camp (Sean), Chesapeake, VA, and Michelle Attaway, Janesville, WI; grandchildren, Amber Mills (Casey), Clayhatchee, Mikaela Argust, Blake Attaway, and Maleaha Camp; great-grandson, Samson Mills; half-sisters, Darlene Woodson, Ecru, MS, Amy Cole, Pontotoc, MS, Monica Allen, FL, Eva Wandersee, Liberty PA; half-brother, Lance McLendon (Michele), Mills River, NC; cousin, Debbie Bright Woodard (Randall), Ozark; uncle, James Gordon Danner, Cedar Park, TX; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
