Vela Carr

EUFAULA… Mrs. Vela M. Doster Carr, a resident of Eufaula (formerly of Ozark), died early Saturday morning, February 12, 2022, at her home. She was 84.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Presley officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carr, daughter of the late J.T. Doster and Gladys Flowers Doster, was a native of Brundidge. She lived in Ozark most of her lifetime until moving to the Georgetown and Eufaula area twelve years ago. Mrs. Carr was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Carr, Jr.; three sons, Tony Carr, Daniel Carr, and Scotty Carr; siblings, Gladys Doster and J.D. Doster.

Surviving relatives include her children, Patricia Carr, Paula Carr, Chuckie Sigers, Jason Sigers, and Dovie Sigers; siblings, J.T. and Kathryn; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Timothy Elmore, Anthony Carr, Hayden Williams, Austin Bush, Gary Garrett, and Jason Greathouse.
