CLAYTON… Mr. Raymond Taylor, a resident of Clayton, died Sunday morning, July 4, 2021, in Clayton. He was 60.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 9, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Luke Westbrook and Reverend Danny Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born September 6, 1960, in Ft. Gordon, Georgia and moved to Gainesville, Florida at an early age. He was a 1978 graduate of Gainesville High School and attended Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville. Mr. Taylor formerly lived in Texas and Florida before moving to Clayton in 2005. He was formerly employed with Daleville Grocery Outlet, Enterprise Grocery Outlet, Abbeville Food Giant and was currently employed as the Meat Market Manger with Food Giant in Clayton. Mr. Taylor was a volunteer with the Texasville Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid Florida Gators Fan. He loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his father, David Allen Taylor, Sr., brother, David Allen Taylor, Jr.
Surviving relatives include his four daughters, Heather Austin (Stacey), Enterprise, Rachel Mitchell (Chuck), Troy, Savannah Taylor, Splendora, TX and Harleigh Taylor (Trevor Helms), Dothan; a son, Zackery Taylor, Splendora, TX; mother, Mary Jenkins Howard, Clayton; a sister, Trudy Stevens (Mike), Ithaca, NY; a brother, Mickey Spruill (Genna), Clayton; five grandchildren, Austin Mitchell, Amber Mitchell, Johnny Mitchell, Bryson Austin, and Caden Austin; special friend, Jamie Ingram, Clayton.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons and Jimmy Spruill, Ethan Spruill, and Trevor Helms.
