Rita Brewster passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

She was born on March 2, 1977, in Fort Rucker, Alabama, to Charles and Lula Brewster. Rita brought unbridled joy and a beautiful, pure light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Although she navigated life with unique medical and developmental challenges, those challenges never defined her or the profound impact she had on those around her. Instead, Rita taught her family and loved ones the true meaning of patience, resilience, compassion, and unconditional love.

Rita experienced the world in her own vibrant and beautiful way. She especially enjoyed listening to music, spending time with her family, and swimming. Though she did not communicate through words, Rita expressed her love and personality in ways uniquely her own—through her laughter, her spirited sounds, and even her playful pinches. Those who knew her understood the language of love she spoke so naturally.

Rita’s presence was a blessing, and her life touched the hearts of many. She will be remembered for the joy she brought, the love she gave, and the unforgettable spirit that made her uniquely Rita.

Rita is survived by her loving sisters, Shirlene, LaNelle, and Shavon, along with a large and devoted extended family who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Lula Brewster.

Though her time on earth was marked by unique challenges, Rita’s life was filled with love, family, and moments that will be treasured forever. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who loved her
