OZARK…. Mrs. Myrtle Syed, a resident of Ozark, died early Thursday morning, July 30, 2020 in Dale Medical Center. She was 88.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Fred Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. All COVID 19 guidelines for social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed during scheduled times.
Mrs. Syed was born to the late Omie L. Eutsey and Jack Eutsey, (stepfather) on July 13, 1932. Myrtle is survived by her loving daughter, Bonnie C. Dyck, Montgomery, AL and her adopted family, Diane, Van, Shereeda and Attorney Terrence Burroughs, Ozark; her cousin, Essie Byrd, Birmingham and a host of other family and friends.
Mrs. Syed attended the public school system of Dale County and at the young age of 16, she was united in marriage to the late Ray C. Dyck, a former high school teacher in Dale County. In 1956, she met and married Jim Syed in Saginaw, MI. Myrtle confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She was a devoted member and served in several areas including the Ladies Aid, Usher Board, food committe, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Myrtle supported her church until her death. She enjoyed traveling, outdoor family events, friendly gatherings with close friends and living life to the fullest every moment given to her.
She will be remembered for the many lives she touched, her loving spirit and generosity. In her final moments, she said, " I welcome the Holy Angels to come and take me into the new Jerusalem, where there is peace, joy and everlasting rest."
