MIDLAND CITY…Mrs. Mary Hall Thomas, a resident of Midland City, died late Saturday morning, April 22, 2023, at her home. She was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Ms. Thomas, daughter of the late Gus Caesar Hall and Mary Margurite Sparks Hall, was a native of Pansey, Alabama. She has lived in Midland City most of her lifetime and retired from the Dale County Board of Education at Dale County High School in the lunchroom. In earlier years, she was employed at various convenience stores as a clerk. Ms. Thomas was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Jeanette Hall; a sister, Ann Whitten; two brothers, Larry Hall and Junior Hall.
Surviving relatives include her children, Danny Hall (Sheila), Teresa Metcalf (Jerry), Debbie Howard (Bobby), and Bridget McLeod (Rashad); grandchildren, Amanda Thomas (Bubba), Dixie Whatley (Tyrel), Robert Metcalf, Christian Metcalf, Derrick Hall (Crystal), Brent Hall (Kayla), Johnathon Howard (Joeanna), Daniel Howard (Timothy), Austun Gibson, Abigail Jones (Tyler), Brian Shaw (Sarah), and Brandon Shaw (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Amy Hall, Trevor Hall, Antonio Thomas, Bryson Thomas, Makayla Whatley, Tyrel Whatley, Robert Junior Metcalf, Carsen Metcalf, Ethan Howard, Mason Howard, Rachelle Howard, Macie-lee Hall, Nolan Cash Hall, Zoey Jones, Riley Jones, Salem Gibson, Lincoln Gibson, Amariah Metcalf, Alayah Metcalf, Sam Shaw, Eli Shaw, and Zachary Shaw; two sisters, Linda Daniels and Martha Jean Register; nieces and nephews; her life partner, Johnny Howard.
