Jean Elizabeth Trotter Hartzog

ARITON…Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Trotter Hartzog, a resident of Ariton, died late Sunday evening, March 31, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 84.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 6, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

            Mrs. Hartzog, daughter of the late James Wyatt Trotter and Nell Andrews Trotter, was a native of Ozark and has lived in Ariton most of her lifetime. She was a member of the Stonebridge Church of God in Ozark. Mrs. Hartzog was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Payton Hartzog; sister, Sara Wines and two brothers, Lynn Trotter and Eldon Trotter.

            Surviving relatives include her two sons, Michael Hartzog (Dana), Troy and Steve Hartzog (Truclan “T.J.”), Ariton; her sister, Patsy Clearman, Dothan; two grandchildren, Bailey Hartzog and Zackery Hartzog; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Wise and Cori Teal; brother-in-law, Robert Wines, Dothan; other relatives also survive.
