Janet Brooks

CLAYHATCHEE…Mrs. Janet K. Brooks, a resident of Clayhatchee, died Wednesday morning, February 8, 2023 at the home of her daughter. She was 75.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brooks, daughter of the late Charles Peter Rice and Nellie Marie Kester Rice, was a native of Kansas City, Missouri. She was a lifelong resident until moving to Clayhatchee in June 2022. Mrs. Brooks was retired from Burns and McDonald Engineering Company and following retirement, she was employed as the secretary for the Fraternal Order of Police in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brooks.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Keri Brooks (Sean), Clayhatchee; two sons, Paul Brooks and Bud Brooks (Laura), both of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Barbara, Charlene, and Anna; a brother, Charles; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
