OZARK… Reverend Farrell Boyd, a resident of Ozark, died early Thursday morning, February 15, 2024, in the Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Facility. He was 79.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 23, 2024, in the Lighthouse Church in Ozark with Pastor Terry Threats officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll-Leatherwood Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
Reverend Boyd was born August 13, 1944, in Opp, Alabama and moved to Ozark in 1968. In 1969, Reverend Boyd and his wife, Mary, founded the Lighthouse Church in Ozark. He was involved in construction work and enjoyed being able to help others. Reverend Boyd loved his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kate Boyd; daughter, Kimberly Kay Meeks.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Donna Diane Ryan (Phillip); son, Farrell Benny Boyd, Jr. (Heidi); sister, Betty Sellers (Ed); brother, George Boyd; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
