ROCKY HEAD COMMUNITY…Mrs. Brandy Lynn Edwards, a resident of the Rocky Head Community, near Ariton, passed away Thursday morning, December 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 39.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Rocky Head Community. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

            Brandy was born July 9, 1984, in Ozark and has lived in the Rocky Head Community since 2002. She attended G.W. Long School and was a member of the Church on the Hill in the New Hope Community. Brandy was preceded in death by her father, Donald Thomas Lewis, grandmother, Mary Frances Williams, brother, James Lewis, nephews, Braxton and Tyler Senn, and father-in-law, Jeff Edwards.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Michael Edwards, Rocky Head; four daughters, Callie Ashlyn Edwards (Cody Stratton), Kaci Brooke Edwards (Morgan Sanders), Bella Cheyanne Edwards, and Shayla Mae Edwards; her son, James Lewis Edwards; mother, Mary Alice Smith, Ozark; two sisters, Amanda Michelle Senn (Bobby), Ariton and Amy Denise Lewis, Ozark; mother-in-law, Judy Hubbard Temple, Ozark; sisters-in-law, Marion Blankenship (Eric), Clio, Miranda Edwards, Princeton, West Virginia, Samantha Mossor (Michael), Princeton, West Virginia, Misty Dawn Grimaldo (Oscar), Louisville, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Brian Farley, Ozark and Matthew Edwards, Princeton, West Virginia; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Senn, Alan Parker, Jeffrey Strickland, Donald Simmons, Austin Senn, and Seth Renew.           

            The family would like to thank Dr. Smith at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Dr. Adkins at Southeast Health in Dothan, nurses and staff of Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, especially Mrs. Kathy Johnson for their dedicated, loving care of Brandy and her family during her illness.
