Mr. Billy Windham was a man who truly embodied hard work, kindness, and faith. Born and raised in the Arguta Community near Ozark, he carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life. He built a name for himself as a carpenter, mechanic, and farmer—never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get the job done. Whether running Ozark Repair Shop or Town and Country Farm Supply, or working the land, he put his heart into everything he did.
But Mr. Billy wasn’t just known for his skills; he was known for his wisdom. He believed in planting good seeds—not just in the soil but in life itself. He taught those around him how to build a strong foundation, nurture their dreams, and mend the things that felt broken. More than anything, he wanted people to live a life grounded in love, faith, and hard work.
His generosity was unmatched. If a neighbor was in need, he was the first to lend a helping hand. He carried a warmth that made him "granddaddy" to so many, whether by blood or simply by heart. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and his stories—filled with humor, wisdom, and life lessons—could brighten even the darkest days.
Mr. Billy left behind a legacy we should all strive for—one of resilience, love, and a heart big enough to hold everyone close. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched, reminding us to work hard, love fiercely, and always be there for those who need us.
Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-seven years, Jo Thomas Windham; his children, Len Windham (Vonn), Ken Windham, and Keith Windham, all of Arguta Community; siblings, Faye, Bobbie Nell, and Earl Windham (Jeanette); four grandchildren, Dr. Lee Windham (Lessie), Vicki Morrison (Paul), Joanie Thompson, and Shelby Easterling (Cade); nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Maxine, Gloria (Wayne), and Diane (Bobby); nieces, nephews, and cousins.
