Alicia Porter Crawford

Alicia was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 25, 1953 to Dr. Oliver W. Crawford Sr. and Gloria P. Crawford. She attended Salem Lutheran Church throughout her life. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

            Alicia was a very bright student and attended Harvard Saint George School from first grade through twelfth grade. Upon graduation, she attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After college she followed in the tradition of her family by attending the University of Illinois Chicago Medical Center. She became a physician in 1980. She was active in a private medical practice in Illinois and worked for the Indian Health Service in Oklahoma.

            Alicia married Larry Williams from Chicago. To this union they had one son, Gabriel Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her surviving family includes her son, Gabriel Williams, and his children; loving brother, Dr. Oliver W. Crawford Jr. (Bonnie) of Ozark; Gloria Crawford of Nashville, TN; Dr. Karla Higginbotham (Jason) and her three children; Oliver W. Crawford III of Boynton Beach, FL; Kahlil Crawford of Chicago; Kathleen Crawford of Iowa City, IA; loving first cousin, Jennifer Shultz and family; great niece and two great nephews and a host of cousins.

            Alicia departed this life on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Her legacy will live on in all her family.  Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024, in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Jason Thrower officiating. Interment will follow in the Meditation Garden of the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
