Steve was one of my oldest friends. His Mother and my Mother were best friends from the days of us being babies. We argued and disagreed. I was born in March and he was born in July. We went to school together, graduated from Carroll HIGH IN 1970, went to church together, youth meetings all over the county for about 20 years. And, then we went different ways. Steve was that safe friend that you could always trust. He was devastated by the loss of his parents who he had helped care for. They were a super, close family. Wayne, I am praying for you in this time of loss. I let Mother know and she kept saying...not Steve. And that is how I feel, too. Roll Tide, old friend.

Steve and I were great friends growing up in Ozark. I will always remember his love for his Lord, his family, Alabama Football, and friends. Wayne and Steve were amazing sons taking care of their parents in their final years. I will always treasure the times we spent together. God Bless.
